ok so in town they have 40 but outside they only have 30, Im in G.W EotN right now i cant get there engery above 30 for some reason. eek help any one know whats going on?

Are they using Ritualist item spells? As long as your hero is holding a pot, all energy bonuses from weapons is lost.

Do they have Radiant Insignias or Attunement runes on their armors?

yeah, only ur heal n/rt should be using an item spell though ;-) try putting more energy mods on their armor, should help some.

If you're doing hard mode, don't forget to give them wands/spears + shields for the added defense and unlikeliness to be targeted by caster hate. Also, you mentioned one or more of your heroes are using item spells; I would recommend applying Herald's Insignias to their chest and leg pieces.

...unless the item spell is Protective Was Kaoli, as you won't need the armour when party is fine and they'll drop the item to heal as soon as a large number of party members take damage.
(Even then I'd argue that if you must spend gold on insignia you go for radiant or survivor)
